Job Description:

  • Serve as a strategic and operational leader within the Global Patient Advocacy organization across immunology and autoimmune cell therapy
  • Embed the patient voice throughout the cell therapy lifecycle from drug development through commercialization
  • Lead the design and execution of patient advocacy strategies across immunology and autoimmune cell therapy disease areas
  • Lead launch readiness efforts for immunology products in lupus and Sjögren’s disease and autoimmune cell therapy programs in rheumatology
  • Collect and synthesize patient insights and translate them into strategic plans
  • Integrate patient and caregiver perspectives into clinical development, commercialization, and product launches
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with patient advocacy organizations and patient communities
  • Manage grants, sponsorships, and memberships
  • Represent BMS at advocacy events, medical conferences, and global forums
  • Engage patients and advocacy organizations through advisory boards, one-to-one engagements, and aggregate insights
  • Provide project management leadership across advocacy engagements and external congresses
  • Advise senior BMS leadership on the advocacy landscape, community needs, and emerging issues
  • Collaborate on clinical trial initiatives, patient insights, trial enrollment, and increasing diversity
  • Partner with Commercial, Medical, Access, Policy, Corporate Affairs, Strategy & Operations, and other cross-functional teams
  • Develop and track advocacy program KPIs and drive continuous improvement
  • Drive project execution and deliver impactful outcomes in a global matrixed environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required
  • Advanced degree such as Master's, MBA, PharmD, or another scientific graduate degree strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • Focus on patient advocacy and commercial/launch strategy
  • Demonstrated success leading patient advocacy strategies in autoimmune/immunology and/or cell therapy
  • Proven experience leading patient advocacy responsibilities related to product launches
  • Experience driving cross-functional alignment in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Strong decision-making and performance in strategic project development and execution
  • Budget management experience
  • Extensive experience engaging with patient advocacy groups
  • Ability to translate patient insights into actionable strategies within drug development and/or commercialization
  • Ability to foster collaboration, build internal and external partnerships, and influence senior and executive leadership
  • Strong facilitation, synthesis, and presentation abilities
  • Experience developing and tracking KPIs
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects within tight deadlines
  • Strong acumen with digital engagement tools and platforms
  • High ethical standards, self-awareness, adaptability, empathy, active listening, and cultural sensitivity
  • Experience working in a global matrixed environment required
  • Domestic and international travel up to 40%, including bimonthly visits to BMS headquarters in Princeton, NJ
